Privacy Policy

This policy explains how BrunswickBullies Mobile Microchipping ("we", "us", "our") handles personal data when you enquire, book, and receive mobile microchipping services.

Last updated: 3 June 2026

1. Who We Are

BrunswickBullies provides at-home microchipping and related support services for dogs, cats and other eligible pets. For data protection purposes, BrunswickBullies is the controller of personal data processed through our website, WhatsApp, phone, email and booking systems.

2. The Data We Collect

Depending on the service, we may collect:

  • Owner details: full name, phone number, email address, and home address.
  • Appointment details: date/time requests, access notes, and communication history.
  • Pet details: species, breed, sex, date of birth/estimated age, coloration, and notes relevant to safe handling.
  • Microchip details: chip number(s), implantation date, and records required for proof of service.
  • Payment and invoicing details necessary to process fees and maintain accounting records.

Quick WhatsApp enquiries (the short form shown when you tap a "message on WhatsApp" button) collect a smaller set of details — your name, postcode/area, enquiry type and an optional message — and are handled in the same way as booking enquiries: we send ourselves a notification so we can respond, then open WhatsApp with your enquiry.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use personal data to:

  • Respond to enquiries and arrange bookings.
  • Perform mobile microchipping services safely and accurately.
  • Issue service confirmations, receipts and other customer support communications.
  • Maintain service records, including implanted microchip numbers and visit documentation.
  • Comply with legal obligations, including animal identification and business record-keeping requirements.
  • Protect against fraud, misuse, unsafe booking requests, or legal claims.

4. Lawful Bases for Processing

Under UK data protection law, we rely on one or more of the following lawful bases:

  • Contract: to provide services you request and administer your booking.
  • Legal obligation: where records are required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Legitimate interests: to operate and improve our service, prevent abuse, and keep accurate business records.
  • Consent: where you voluntarily provide optional information or request specific communications.

5. Microchip Databases and Registration

Where part of your service includes submitting microchip information to an approved database, we may share required owner and pet details with that database provider so your pet can be correctly registered. Database providers act as separate controllers for the records they hold.

You are responsible for checking registration details are accurate and for updating details directly with the relevant database if your contact information changes.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only where necessary with:

  • Microchip database operators (for registration and record management).
  • Technology and communications providers (hosting, booking, email, messaging).
  • Payment processors and accounting providers.
  • Professional advisers, insurers, or legal authorities where required by law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for service delivery, legal/regulatory compliance, and legitimate business purposes. Retention periods vary by record type (for example, booking, invoice, and microchip service records) and are reviewed periodically.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss of personal data. While no system is fully risk-free, we aim to process data responsibly and limit access to those who need it.

9. Your Rights

Subject to legal conditions, you may have rights to:

  • Request access to personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request erasure in certain circumstances.
  • Object to or restrict some processing activities.
  • Request transfer of data in a machine-readable format where applicable.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in this policy. We may request verification to protect your data before responding.

10. Children and Pet Ownership Data

Our services are intended for pet owners and responsible adults arranging microchipping. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children through our booking channels.

11. Cookies and Website Analytics

We only use strictly necessary storage technologies: local browser storage that saves your progress through the booking form so you don't lose it if you navigate away. This is not used for advertising or to track you across other websites. We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies; if that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first where required.

12. International Transfers

Some service providers may process data outside the UK. Where this occurs, we use appropriate safeguards designed to protect personal data in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

13. Complaints

If you have concerns about how we handle your personal data, please contact us first so we can investigate and try to resolve the issue promptly. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK.
